The man, the myth, the legend -- Maka Oceania -- recently gifted his fans with a new project titled Tropical Soul. Splitting his time between Boston, Oregon, and the shores of Tonga, Maka has been on go-mode this year despite the ongoing circumstances. The last few years of my life have been soundtracked by a large selection of Maka's music, so to say that I was excited for this album to be released would be a definite understatement.
Similar to his first two full-length releases, Waterworld and Tropical Rain, Tropical Soul is composed of an incredibly vibrant energy that'll leave you with a smile on your face. I'm not entirely sure how he does it, but Maka's music reminds me of stepping outside on a beautiful day. While it may be the beginning of December here in Massachusetts, Tropical Soul helps to make it feel like the tail-end of May.
Composed of both new tracks, and some old hits that were only accessible through Maka's SoundCloud, Tropical Soul is the perfect introductory point if this is your first time hearing about Maka Oceania. His artistry is simply unmatched, and every single new release of his is a treat. Both myself and the rest of the team here at Mass Music Radio highly suggest giving this tape a spin.
