POOLFIRE EXCELS ON "RADIO MAN"
By: Shamus Hill
Woburn's poolfire relinquishes his first single of 2021 - an airy, hazy offering that's titled "Radio Man".
For any of you out there who have followed my writing over the last several years, you'll remember this cheerful artist, who formerly utilized the moniker YOUNGFACE. While he may be going by a different name these days, one thing's for certain, and it's that the music this Massachusetts native crafts is extremely well-put-together.
His latest release is one that encompasses a wide variety of stylistic influences. Floating over sun-soaked acoustic guitar riffs that gradually pick up emphasis throughout the song's four minute run-time, poolfire tells the tale of a "radio man" whose life isn't as glamorous as the public would think. Packing a punch in terms of both depth and sonics, "Radio Man" rests as one of my favorite components of poolfire's new discography.
Though this may be the starting point for poolfire with respect to the release of new music in 2021, he's an extremely promising artist and individual who will surely continue to deliver as time moves on.
