By: Shamus Hill Mizzie CASH has been a staple within Boston's music community since I first started providing local artists with coverage through Graduation Music and Mass Music Radio. Not only is he in possession of a skillset that is uniquely his, but his discography is one that has grown in strength as of late. Today, he's making yet another appearance across the Mass Music Radio Airwaves with "I Ain't Going". Though this offering is of a much more gradual temperament, Mizzie CASH still manages to tap into his ability to deliver high-quality raps. Centering itself around disdain toward disrespect, aspirations toward success, and "not going out sad", "I Ain't Going" shows off Mizzie's ability to switch up his style. Most of his catalog consists heavily of raps that are centered around street life, and though this release speaks on similar subjects, the way he's able to transfer what he wants to say to his listeners is exceptional. Mizzie CASH is certainly someone to look out for within Massachusetts' music community, so without further ado, show him some love! Watch the official music video for "I Ain't Going" below:

By: Shamus Hill CAEV is an enigma within the Massachusetts music scene. Establishing a name for himself through the curation of a wildly authentic and unique discography, he's someone who's routinely done whatever it is that he wants in life. The Boston artist's recent project, BrokeAndTalented, which debuted earlier this month, is one that embodies all of the sentiments from above, and channels them into a substantial, singular body of work. The selection of songs that compromise this release are derived from a period in CAEV's life where he describes himself as being both broke and talented. This 10-song offering is one that is composed of both new and old songs, and revolves around much of what CAEV endured on his path toward greatness. As written on his website, CAEV went through a vast amount of trials and tribulations within both his personal and professional life to arrive at this current point in time, becoming molded by his surroundings each step of the way: "I’m happy to finally close this chapter in my life that I’ve called “Broke(n)Talented “ I’ve experienced lows that I’ve not even completely processed yet and highs that took me to other planes of existence. Sometimes I felt like a complete fool for chasing my goals and other times I felt like a titan: unstoppable on my path to Olympus. And all through that journey the Talent kept me alive. My talent. My belief in myself. The belief that I can and will. The belief in my worth even when only I could see it. The belief that my talent would help me to conquer all foes, inside and out. This tape is for all my Broke and Talented niggas n bitches who wake up ready to not just “do the work” but are yearning to EXCEL at the work. To push limits, barries, and envelopes (Babyyyyy!)! This for the believers, non-believers, and everyone in between: UUUU CAN DO THIS SHIT <3 !" One of the standouts on this tape for me was "UpperCut" which was produced by bby.bird and actually received its very own visual treatment from Bridge Visions. Harnessing energy that's reminiscent of a comet darting across the night sky, CAEV floats on this offering with chiseled precision. Additionally, "By Derick For CAEV" is a song that incorporates the several layers of influence that play a role in CAEV's discography, showing off the multi-faceted artistic capabilities that are at his disposal. When it comes to local music, there's quite literally nobody on the same level as CAEV, and I don't think I can possibly recommend an album more so than this one. Boston's DJ Caitlin recently pulled up to the Mass Music Radio HQ and blessed us with a set! As an already talented pianist, she brings her musical knowledge and technical skills behind the DJ booth and naturally woos the crowd with live toneplays, mash ups and scratching. She's making big moves in the city so make sure to keep an eye out for her, as she may be at a venue near you! Watch below: By: Shamus Hill Doobie 83 has quickly become a reputable artist hailing from the city of Boston. His growing fanbase is one that stalks his social media accounts for the faintest sign of a new snippet, or if they're lucky enough, a brand new single/video. Today, fans of Doobie 83 from both Boston and beyond can rejoice, as the young rapper returns to the limelight with the official music video for his single "SLUMBER". Gliding over some production at the hands of Boston producer Korheff, Doobie 83 equips this release with braggadocious raps about coming up in life. He's no stranger to flexing what he's accomplished, as the backdrops of a Los Angeles mansion, Rolls Royce, and even Chase Bank confirm this for those who were previously unaware. The way he channels his past into his lyrics, while at the same time utilizing this deep, domineering presence over each beat he comes across is something that has made for a really solid catalog of music. With Doobie 83, the reputation of the city of Boston is in great hands. Gracing her way across the airwaves of Mass Music Radio today, SliccBae is making her voice heard following the release of the official music video for her single "How I Move". Though much of her creative work up through this point in her career has revolved moreso around modeling, SliccBae is now pivoting toward music, and thankfully so, because her debut single is one that I have not been able to get out of my head. "How I Move" is an offering that rests at two minutes in length, as SliccBae utilizes unique vocal tones and a ridiculously catchy hook to assemble something substantial. Helping apply a point of emphasis upon this song's release were fellow Massachusetts creatives Reko and Zach Johnson of HBZ Media, who put together a stand out visual which features some of SliccBae's friends. Included were CAEV and BoriRock, who are two artists who've consistently been featured across our platform over the years. With co-signs from some of our area's best, SliccBae is hitting the ground running with her musical career. Those who've intently followed the Massachusetts music scene will surely be aware of Stefan, who's worked alongside a staggering list of talent from this area. Today, the Brockton native graces our blog with a new single titled "ON THE EDGE WITH U". Starting from scratch as Stefan Thev, "ON THE EDGE WITH U" serves as the first addition to what will soon become his all-new discography. He's stepping into this year poised to really make his mark, and I am filled with a tremendous amount of excitement with respect to what he's going to accomplish. Taking on a serene, relaxed energy throughout, a listen through "ON THE EDGE WITH U" feels like a three minute drive through the hills of California each and every time. Truly helping to hammer down this feeling of tranquility were both Laura, Laura! and OnBloom, who provided some silky background vocals that added phenomenal layers to this release's lasting sentiment. What excites me the most about this is the fact that what you're hearing here is solely one angle of Stefan Thev's multi-faceted capabilities. Keeping this in mind, I strongly believe it would be a good idea to keep him on your musical radar, as there's no telling what influences he will be channeling into his next release. Watch the official visualizer for "ON THE EDGE WITH U" below, which was assembled by REDLINE: By: Shamus Hill King Brickz brings the legendary Styles P to Mission Hill for his brand new single titled "Scared Of Us". Making his first appearance on our blog recently with the official music video for "Mask On" featuring BigBodyBenz, King Brickz raises the bar even higher on "Scared Of Us". Featuring one of the most potent verses that I have heard from this Boston rapper so far, both King Brickz and Styles P truly complement one another's style very naturally. PXVCEGODFILMS is the videographer who brought this visual into existence, and also was the individual behind King Brickz's visual for "Mask On". If you're ever interested in seeing some outstanding videos for some of the Boston area's best, then I strongly suggest paying a visit to his YouTube page, as he is constantly producing new material. Her family in Malmö possesses generations of musical influence - something which largely derives from their Cuban heritage. Though she was raised, and is still based out of, Sweden, her talents have taken her beyond the country's borders to London and even Los Angeles. Today, her voice stretches its way across the Atlantic Ocean, all the way to our radio stream in Massachusetts, as her single "BRB" alongside Shawn Butler and Joel Malka is an exemplary addition to her young discography. Embarking on her journey in music approximately a year ago, it's safe to say that 2020 didn't go exactly as planned. The combination of social distancing and travel restrictions really limited LUCIIA to writing music at home, however now that things are opening back up, so is her catalog of music. Resting as her first release of the year, "BRB" puts her vocal capabilities on full-display. Both Shawn Butler and Joel Malka make excellent contributions on this track, truly helping to amplify the lasting effect that comes paired with LUCIIA's presence over the instrumental. Though I mentioned how her discography is still in its infancy, I don't want this to overshadow the fact that it is full of depth. Centered around the empowerment of women and challenging the traditional responsibilities of women in relationships, this offering does much more than simply sound good. It speaks on issues of true relevancy when we need it the most, which is something that puts a phenomenal emphasis on this track's release. Be on the lookout for her upcoming EP, as I expect the sentiment I just shared about "BRB" to be increased by tenfold. LUCIIA isn't an artist that you come across frequently, and it's for this reason that the team here at Mass Music Radio is highly suggesting that you get out there and give her music a spin! By: Shamus Hill Whenever new artists from Boston are featured on Mass Music Radio's Blog it quite literally makes the entirety of the day feel like a holiday. With that being said, we have reason to celebrate, as both Delly and PimpDaddyDane make their first appearance across our airwaves today with "Ahh Ahh". While Pimp is someone who I've been familiar with for a minute now, Delly is an artist who's just making his way onto my radar for the first time. This high-energy offering is one that'll surely be making its rounds throughout the city of Boston this Summer, as both Delly and Pimp trade some truly excellent verses. Both of these artists are in possession of a strong presence over the underlying instrumental, something which ultimately fills me with excitement for how each of their respective catalogs will develop with time. PimpDaddyDane personifies the ongoing change in identity that circulates the music scene in Boston, MA. While the scene has largely been dominated by men over the last couple of decades, it seems as though we are currently seeing a takeover by women of color, providing an entirely different example of what life is like here. I, for one, am thrilled to be able to see this change in real time, and am incredibly excited for what is next to come out of this city in terms of music.
