By: Shamus Hill Since I started covering the local music scene in Massachusetts, Valley has consistently provided some of the area's most potent hits. I first got hip to the promising young artist following the release of "Atari" more than four years ago. Additionally, both "Color Diamonds" and "KISS" were songs of Valley's then received countless spins from both myself and many others throughout the Boston area and beyond. After a long hiatus, Valley returns to the Mass Music Radio Airwaves today, with the official music video for his single "Trench Baby". Similar to the numerous other components of his discography that I mentioned above, "Trench Baby" truly manages to engrain itself into the mind of the listener. Off rip, you'll note that Valley's voice is incredibly unique. I love the way he sounds on each of his tracks, as "Trench Baby" helps to reinforce this statement tremendously well. You'll notice that the video was uploaded under Doobie 83's account, who is another bubbling artist from Boston that is doing his thing right now. Be sure to keep the both of these individuals on your radar, as they're making some of my favorite music coming out of Boston right now! Watch the official music video for "Trench Baby" below:

POLEBOY D ROSE LINKS UP WITH TANJ FOR THE RELEASE OF THE OFFICIAL MUSIC VIDEO FOR "TALKING"13/4/2021 By: Shamus Hill Poleboy D Rose took the Massachusetts Music Scene by storm this past Summer when his hit single "ZAZA" ended up getting some play from both in AND out of the Bay State. As mentioned in last week's article about Big Super and Brandon James, the Drill Scene prevalent within Boston, Massachusetts has grown exponentially over the course of the last few years. Since the passing of Pop Smoke, this sound has seized control of international airwaves, with some of the brightest new upcomers in this genre being from Massachusetts. Poleboy D Rose is here to help reinforce this statement today with the official music video for his song "Talking". There's a sentiment of raw authenticity that comes paired with Poleboy D Rose's discography, one that only a select few artists in the state of Massachusetts have been able to replicate. He's had his run-ins with Massachusetts Law Enforcement over the last couple of years, but this hasn't stopped Poleboy D Rose in the slightest from achieving musical success. Even when he was locked up, he was still staying in touch with his supporters via social media - even providing freestyles from behind bars. The more work he puts in with respect to his music, the more layers of his artistry he reveals, and this is what truly excites me for what's next to come with respect to his rap career. Watch the official music video for "Talking" below: By: Shamus Hill For those that have been following my writing since the Graduation Music days, you'll certainly recognize Bouvé's name. Initially starting out his musical career under the moniker Booty Bae (lmao), Bouvé has since decided to use his family's name when releasing music. While this may be a playful anecdote, his artistic capabilities are to be taken seriously, as the North Shore Native chalks up yet another formidable component of his discography with "I Mean". What initially drew me closer towards Bouvé's discography all those years ago was the uniqueness of his voice. There's this sweet raspiness that he possesses, and when it's mixed with his high-level lyrical work, the finished product is simply amazing. My favorite Bouvé releases tend to lean towards the more somber/serious side of emotion, and this is exactly what listeners received today upon the release of "I Mean". Though the song rests just short of two minutes in length, it still manages to pack a punch. Definitely be sure to check out Bouvé's YouTube page, as each of his recent releases come paired with their very own visualizer for fans to enjoy. For more music from Bouvé and some of the best artists in Massachusetts, then be sure to stay up-to-date with Mass Music Radio! By: Shamus Hill Heath240 is no stranger to Mass Music Radio. Not only has he been featured on our blog and our radio stream over the last couple of years, he's even been through our studio a handful of times to chop it up. Heath recently made the move down south to Miami, and since then has not only been working on his solo-discography, but he's also taken on a role as a Staff Writer for Daily Chiefers. He makes his way onto Mass Music Radio's Airwaves today following the release of the official music video for his addictive new single "LIVE". The same way that Justin Bieber's "Peaches" has nestled its way into every nook and cranny in my mind, "LIVE" by Heath240 is managing to replicate this exact process. This offering certainly challenges the way in which we categorize music, as Heath manages to pull in influences from across a wide variety of music. According to his Spotify bio, he's heavily inspired by both Indie-Pop and Hip-Hop music, however these two variances in music only make up the beginning of what Heath240's discography entails. He truly explores his craft on each forthcoming release, something which has ultimately resulted in a diverse musical catalog that manages to differentiate itself from a number of artists prevalent right now. Not only was Heath in-charge of the track itself coming together, be he also took on the role of director on this project. He's a true creative in every sense of the word, and we are extremely excited for what this young artist from Boston has coming next. Just a few days ago, the group unveiled their latest song "SWISHAHOUSE" alongside its official music video. Directed by CLUB INDIGO, this visual encapsulates the energy prevalent within this single perfectly. "SWISHAHOUSE" takes on a much more serene feel than some of the group's previously releases, a nod towards the innovative mindset that exists amongst the members of iLL Addicts. Pro Swervez and Julez are responsible for the helm of this release, but don't let this overshadow the remainder of this collective. Each member is highly-skilled with respect to music, and have been developing their skills for several years now. Nearly three years ago when we had Mass Music Radio's official launch party, the iLL Addicts pulled up in their entirety and rocked the Gym For Artists with songs like "Isis" and "Rich Together". We've been incredibly grateful to not only have them perform at our studio, but at Extravaganja out in Northampton, MA as well. Each member of our team considers themself a fan of the iLL Addicts, and we strongly believe that you'll share this same mindset as well. Watch the video, and subscribe to our official YouTube Channel below! By: Shamus Hill Boston's Leo The Kind returns to the Mass Music Radio Airwaves today following the release of his latest single "24's". Known primarily for his singing and production capabilities, Leo puts both on full-display on "24's". Following his move to Los Angeles, he's been busy working alongside some of the music industry's most notable acts -- including Trey Songz and Usher to name a few. He's come a long way since his early days, when he began to first experiment with production by using software on his Playstation. Fast forward to now, he's making a name for himself on a global scale, and proudly representing Massachusetts all along the way. If you'd like to learn more about Leo The Kind, read his recent interview with Dig Boston's Megan Doherty by clicking here. Listen to Leo The Kind's "24's" below: By: Shamus Hill BoriRock has been no stranger to the limelight when it comes to the Massachusetts music scene this year. Following the recent release of Off The Yins Vol. 1, he now has three full-length projects under his belt as the first quarter of the year comes to a close. Rather than slowing his pace -- El Hooto is picking up the speed, and this Boston based rapper shows no signs of stopping as his discography grows at an exponential rate. Bori teamed up with Bby.Bird for the production of Off The Yins Vol. 1, and the duo, whos comprised of theworldbirdie and bby.j, laced him with some truly top-tier beats. BoriRock frequently experiments with the direction of his sound, however the path that was taken on this release is one that I'm a huge fan of. Rather than taking the traditional route of rapping over the typical beats that Hip-Hop fans are being battered with these days, Bby.Bird took it upon themselves to craft something different for BoriRock to work with. The end result was amazing, as Off The Yins Vol. 1 finely balances the thin line of sticking to one's artistic routes whilst still trying to innovate at the same time. Featured on this tape are Massachusetts' Donald Grunge, Soap.Wav, Lord Felix, and CAEV -- all of whom have received countless spins on Mass Music Radio since the beginning of our organization. To see such a collaborative mindset amongst some of the state's most distinctive artists is amazing to see, and something that I hope continues to seep into the vast corners of the Bay State's music scene. For those of you that follow Mass Music Radio intently, you'll note that I actually had somewhat of a listening party for Off The Yins Vol. 1 when it initially debuted this past Wednesday 3/31. Shlomo and myself were testing out the Twitch stream, and after seeing that the project had suddenly dropped out of nowhere, I decided to play it in its entirety for our viewers. If you'd like to view some of the footage, feel free to click here. By: Shamus Hill Surfliner recently graced the Mass Music Radio airwaves following the release of their single "Above Water", and today, the South Shore based band is back with a brand new song titled "Lizard Race". In regards to their last release, I reflected on how "Above Water" made me feel as though I was traveling down Route 3A in Massachusetts in the midst of Summer. On "Lizard Race", Surfliner takes this sentiment and puts it on steroids. Much of this track contains exemplary instrumentation, with some Daft Punk-esque vocals tossed in to add additional layers of lovability to this song. Everything about "Lizard Race" radiates an incredibly warm energy, and I'm excited to see that Surfliner isn't waiting around to release new music to their listeners. Listen to "Lizard Race" below: By: Shamus Hill Hyde Park native Clark D makes the first addition to his discography of 2021 following the release of the official music video for "SECTION 3 FREESTYLE". Clark D is no stranger to those familiar with Mass Music Radio, as he graced our airwaves towards the tail-end of 2021 with his high-energy single "HARD" featuring Brockton's SeeFour. "SECTION 3 FREESTYLE" may take on a different aurora than that of "HARD", however this is no slight to the energy that's prevalent on this release. Since meeting the young artist at Uncut's event with LVRN, he's really stepped into his true form as an artist. He's spent the last few years both managing his life as a student at UMass Lowell alongside his artistic career, and though there may be a lot on his plate, Clark hasn't let any of it overwhelm him. He's continued down his path towards greatness, and the team here at Mass Music Radio are incredibly excited to see what's next for him.
