When it comes to crafting earth-shattering music, Brevin Kim routinely shifts the globe's axis with each of their forthcoming releases. Combining elements of a wide-array of musical genres, and fusing them together in a way that listener's distinctly know as their own, unique style – Brevin Kim have grown into a immensely formidable duo. Today, this pair of brothers from Massachusetts make an appearance across the airwaves of Mass Music Radio with the official music video for "LAY IT ALL ON ME". Following up on the recent success of "YOU F.O." and "NAPLES", "LAY IT ALL ON ME" furthers Brevin Kim's journey down a musical path that balances hard-hitting instrumentation with fine-tuned vocal work. Similar to the sonic journey that takes place on "YOU F.O.", this track utilizes otherworldly 808's that sound like they were curated on the surface of Mars. It's apparent that both Bren and Cal ascend to new heights as their catalog grows in size, and following a listen through the two-and-a-half runtime of "LAY IT ALL ON ME", it's safe to say that this statement continues to ring true. At this point in 2021, Brockton has truly rivaled the city of Boston as Massachusetts' musical powerhouse. Largely led by the roster over at Van Buren Records, the City of Champions has forged itself into the mind of listeners from all corners of the globe. Premo.Dee is another exceptional artist from this area of the state whose multidimensional creativity has only added upon the sentiments I described above. Today, he taps in with VB's Saint Lyor to gift his fanbase with his most well-executed single to date – "ROBINHOOD". Resting just under two-and-a-half minutes in length, "ROBINHOOD" becomes centered around survival amidst oppression. While some attempt to cast blame upon those that are simply doing what is necessary for them to survive, Premo reflects on how it's ultimately not their fault, but rather, the fault of the systems that have failed them. Managing to tap into an issue of utmost importance whilst still constructing a song of artistic merit, Premo.Dee puts his capabilities on full-display. Rounding out this release with a well-polished verse is none other than Saint Lyor. Following a 2021 that has boosted the notoriety surrounding his name, Saint Lyor relays yet another effortless collection of raps that place the cherry at the top of this exemplary single. It's just another day where Brockton remains undefeated. Listen to "ROBINHOOD" below:

Massachusetts native and reigning Bean Cup DJ Battle Champion, Daniel Costta, gave us the honor of an exclusive and absolutely electric 1 hour DJ set at the station. He took us on a musical journey easing us into the mix before he absolutely murdered his set. Before you know it, he had the studio rocking, impressing us with all of his song selections, banger after banger. Not only does he have superb song selection ability but he is a master at scratching. His ability to scratch but still keep the flow of the mix consistent with the house grooves are next level and I can truly say he's one of the best scratchers I've seen in person. Not only a DJ but Daniel Costta is also a very talented producer. He has remixed Tiesto, ROTIMI, Volac & Illusionize and many more which can be found on his soundcloud. Springfield's Jxylen takes an intergalactic trip into his past and, subsequently, his future on the rapper's latest single, "Toonami Aftermath". Staged around the universal forces that have guided Jxylen along the steps that he's taken in life, "Toonami Aftermath" evolves into a wholesome display of reassurance, hope, and affirmation. The Maya Angelou quote "If you don't know where you've come from, you don't know where you're going." was something that instantly came to mind when listening to this release for the first time, as the Western Massachusetts representative helped to dissect some of what his earliest inspirations to make music were. Heavily influenced by the programming featured on both Toonami and Adult Swim, Jxylen always wanted to utilize his creative capabilities to inspire the masses on a large scale. Understanding that it might take some time to achieve such a monumental task, he continues down the path that has been laid out before him by divine powers. Finding solitude in this and nothing more, "Toonami Aftermath" is a two and a half minute portrayal of what these influences have resulted in. Injecting the otherworldly sentiment into the inner-fabric of this track is eu-IV, whose production talents placed an emphasis on Jxlyen's well-constructed verses here. The Baltimore native has worked extensively at his craft for some time now, and I, for one, am thrilled to see a beat of his placed into the hands of one of the most-exciting rappers in Massachusetts right now. While we may be halfway through the completion of 2021, Garrett Merk is just now beginning to turn up the heat. Following the drop of his first two singles of the year, the Brockton native makes yet another appearance across the airwaves of Mass Music Radio today with the official music video for "Slipknot". Utilizing a well-carved instrumental from Jon Glass, Thomas Forbes, and Roy Fontaine, "Slipknot" is a nearly three-minute-long exposé of what this MA creative is capable of doing with his music. His skillset with respect to both rapping and singing are of a high-tier, something which is largely responsible for the formulation of his abundant catalog of music. Each time his listeners are gifted new music to throw in rotation, Garrett seemingly never fails to deliver. He raises the bar with each new release, developing into a formidable artist along the way. This visual was shot by Garrett Merk's longtime friend and collaborator, Brad Frace, helping to make one of the Brockton native's most well-executed music videos up through this moment in time.
