By: Shamus Hill Bby.Bird is a promising duo that's composed of Massachusetts-based creatives, bby j and theworldbirdie, who together have assisted some truly powerful artists with the curation of their sound. Today, the pair make their way across Mass Music Radio with a shimmering instrumental tape titled SUMMER WHITNEY. Bby.Bird first exploded onto Massachusetts' music scene last summer, following their work alongside Cambridge artist, soap.wav, on his newest project - Atlantis. Since their discographical debut, the pair have continued to make their mark on the music exiting this state. Working with artists such as CAEV and BoriRock, they're quite literally shaping the sounds of some of Massachusetts' best. Most notably, the duo oversaw the production of BoriRock's Off The Yins Vol. 1, which currently rests as one of my favorite projects by any artist this year. Taking influence from the ongoing change in season, Bby.Bird's latest creation is one that I had no idea was coming until it was released. To say that I was pleasantly surprised would be an understatement, especially considering the fact that Massachusetts was quickly blasted by a heat wave upon its debut. Coincidence? I think not! Some of the standouts off of SUMMER WHITNEY include "LORO PARQUE" which features BoriRock, "CALM ME DOWN" which features excellent vocal work from both theworldbirdie and Daniel Maldonado of Bridge Visions, and "HUMID AS EVER", a song that has literally been speaking to my soul over the last few days. SUMMER WHITNEY is a project that truly sets the scene for the coming months, and is one that will be in heavy rotation as the temperature levels continue to rise.

By: Shamus Hill FUNERAL Ant Bell graces the pages of Mass Music Radio's blog today following the release of the official music video for "Phases". Tapping in with Reko to bring this visual to life, FUNERAL Ant Bell's catalog of music receives an additional layer of strength today, as the music video showcases some of the sights that have molded Ant Bell into who he is today. Coming off of his recent project titled Yourself Ain't Hard To Find, FUNERAL Ant Bell is here to make a statement. What I enjoy the most about this track is how authentic it feels. The listener truly grows closer to Ant Bell by the time this track closes, making one itch to hear what the rest of his project is sounding like. For those who haven't given it a spin yet, then the team here at Mass Music Radio certainly suggests throwing this Boston-themed project into rotation. While this may be some of our readers' first time hearing of FUNERAL Ant Bell, it certainly won't be the last. This Boston rapper is poised to have a profound impact on his community through the use of his art form, and I, for one, am really excited to see how he develops with time. Watch the official music video for "Phases" below: By: Shamus Hill Boston's Big Super and BJ Baller unite their talents for a brand new collaboration titled "Don't Even". With the both of these individuals possessing formidable, high-paced styles of expression, "Don't Even" is a song that immediately piqued my interest upon its release. Big Super is a rapper from Boston who has proven to be ridiculously consistent as 2021 has unfolded. From his single alongside his brother Brandon James titled "Blood Brothers" to his recent visual alongside Rugby Lo Sport, it's safe to say that he's been in his bag as of late. BJ Baller, another prominent artist who's name has been making rounds around Boston, floated effortlessly on this offering, piggybacking off of the Big Super's energy with ease. If this is your first time hearing of BJ Baller, then we certainly suggest checking out his live performance of "Burning Bridges", which he recently performed as a part of ripe-tanjerines' The Orange Room. Both of these individuals are artists you should be on the lookout for, as each new addition to their catalogs is worthy of the attention of the masses. By: Shamus Hill Fellz has been quietly putting together a brilliant catalog of music. His recent single "Lifestyle" is one that sits atop his discography as his potent release yet, and it's because of this that he graces the pages of Mass Music Radio's blog today. Thanks to a tip from our very own DJ Kris Crosse, I was able to start listening to this Boston artist since his 2019 EP 25 Years or Death. His presence on each track is undeniable, as there's no questioning the prowess that's prevalent within each of his offerings. Providing detailed anecdotes of the ramifications that come attached to street life, Fellz shines a light toward the not-so-glamorized side of some people's lives in Massachusetts. Not only are his lyrics distinguished, but the melodic delivery that he utilizes makes for hit-after-hit within his discography. While "Lifestyle" may be the most recent example of this, tracks like "Demise" featuring Cubie, "Wonder Why", and "Armed and Dangerous" also speak to the talent that Fellz possesses. By: Shamus Hill Ipswich native, Bouvé, unclenches his grasp around his new body of work - a 6 track offering titled Chad Venom Files Vol. 1. Achieving different ranges of emotion on each component of this project, Bouvé manages to showcase his multifaceted characteristics as an artist. While songs like "DON'T BREAK" and "SUMMER OT [OUTRO]" circulate around romantic interests, tracks like "PUT ME IN COACH" and "HORSEPOWER" consist of a much more elevated energy, providing the two parallels of what much of Bouvé's catalog ends up being at the end of the day. Though he's a skilled producer, he stepped away from the task on this project, leaving the job at the hands of DDotFreezing, Lockage, 01ashes, Soju, JFlex, P.EXE, and Cobeau. Despite there being a wide array of producers involved, the cohesivness of this tape would have one thinking as though Bouvé worked exclusively alongside a singular producer. Ultimately, Chad Venom Files Vol. 1 is an excellent reminder of Bouvé skillset, and sets him up to continue his reign of excellence in 2021. Listen to Chad Venom Files Vol. 1 below: By: Shamus Hill There are few individuals within the borders of Massachusetts who are endowed with the ability to assemble well-calculated raps each and every trip to the booth. Avenue, who hails from Boston's South End, is one of these individuals, as his catalog of music has gradually fortified itself over the course of the last decade. Today, he blesses Mass Music Radio's Airwaves with a strong addition to his discography titled "S H Y N E". Resting at just over two minutes in length, this release incorporates a serene aurora that casts a spell upon the listener. Tokyo's Cedar Law$ was tasked with production here, helping to put the seal on the feelings of tranquility that are prevalent across this song. Avenue utilizes this track to describe his love/hate relationship with regard to the neighborhood he's from, reminiscing on the past events that have collectively conjoined to develop the person that stands before him today. "S H Y N E" is a wondrous follow-up from B R O W N S T O N E S, which was the latest project to be released by Avenue - one that dropped earlier in 2021. If you're enjoying what you're listening to, then I definitely suggest tuning into Mass Music Radio, which constantly plays the newest music exiting Massachusetts!
